Spirit Collage is a process where images from magazines, clip art, and other printed sources are brought together to form unique relationships on personalized oracle cards, ready to be used for contemplative reflection.
The cards are 5” x 8” thick card stock with a clear plastic sleeve, which is the final touch when completed. We will share with each other our creations to help unfold the multi-layered narratives of our lives.

Be prepared to die laughing. This is a playful way to bring a second life to discarded stuffed toys. We begin with a big pile of stuffed animals rescued from thrift stores. From this pile, we begin to cut off heads, legs, arms, and tails for our individual Frankenstein operations. These limbs are sewn together to manifest one-of-a-kind creatures.
Expect tons of laughter and joy during the workshop. * Adults only.
10-Week Performance Lab
10 weeks (8 weeks of workshops, 1 week of rehearsal, and 1 performance)
In this collaborative performance lab, participants will explore performance art through a series of creative assignments and exercises, culminating in a final show. We'll define the overall concept of the show and choose its title. Together, we'll identify three key themes that will guide the assignments over the next several weeks.
Assignments
Participants will complete three main assignments:
Each participant will ultimately choose one of these three pieces to refine and present during the final performance.
What You’ll Gain
The final show will be a collective showcase of the pieces developed throughout the 10-week journey.

Moving The Past Forward:
A Journal-Making Workshop
4-weeks (1 afternoon a week) - 4 Hours a day
Where: An artist’s loft in the Los Angeles Arts District
What: Most people have journaled at some point in their lives, but the ideas and images get stuck in the past.
How do we move these ideas, feelings, and dreams forward?
What to bring: Please bring some old journals from which you are willing to pull interesting passages/pages,
as well as any doodles and drawings that don't have a home yet. You will find new homes for them in our new journals.
Also, bring poetry, song lyrics, heartfelt notes, and philosophical explorations. If you've done a quick sketch of flowers and it's
sitting at the bottom of a drawer, bring it. Those stray dreams may find a home in your new journal. Daily encounters can be placed poetically on tactile pages.
We have lots of art supplies to personalize your journals. We will provide 8” x 8” Journals for those who want a fresh start.
Through this process, you may find a wonderful combo of deep introspection, journal work, painting, soul collage, improv, laughter, and community sharing.

The Fundamentals of Performance Art
4 hour workshop
Explore the basic tools of performance art. Find out what works on stage. Get a feel for the power of abstract, non-literal, unscripted, spontaneous theater. The class will be guided through exercises designed by Rachel Rosenthal, an icon in experimental theater.
One will learn to trust their impulses, find new relationships, and expand spatial awareness with movement, sound, objects, props, costumes, and other performers. We will also have the opportunity to broaden our vocabulary by arranging simple stage sets and playing with musical instruments, shadows, and video projections. The keywords are Play, Trust, Listen, and Support.

Traditional teachings of painting often include composition, form, value, and color theory to help guide one in making a successful piece of art. Diving deeper into these subjects, one sees an even more essential component to creating a dynamic work: Celebrating Diversity.
The eye needs to be entertained in order to keep one's interest in the work. This is true for both the artist and the art viewer. Setting up a surface where the eye is encouraged to move around and compare its elements is key for engaging the observer.
This 4-hour workshop will explore the many ways to create and honor diversity. Each participant will work on two panels with full access to paints, collage elements, texturing-patterning tools, and more.
